1965 SHELBY GT350

Few American cars command international respect like the cars of Shelby American Inc. Chief among those automobiles is Carroll Shelby's secretary's car turned race car, the 1965 GT350. The example offered here, 5S291, began its life just as Ole'Shel intended, racing in regional SCCA events. In fact, the car retains its original log book from its competition days. Following its racing days, the car passed through a few owners before landing in the care of SAAC Concours Judge Bob Gaines. Recently, 5S291 has undergone a meticulous rotisserie restoration to Shelby American Automobile Club Concours Division 2 standards. The body and paint were completed around 2000. Once completed, a few other projects needed finishing over the last few years. The restoration was completed over the last 7 months and was brought up to current day Divison II concours standards. The car is finished to the highest levels of workmanship and authenticity in order to yield a car which now displays just as it did when it rolled off the showroom floor in 1965 down to the smallest of details. As a concours car, the level of correctness displayed by 5S291 far surpasses that of cars which most enthusiasts would call "meticulously restored" show cars. In addition, original parts were used wherever possible during the restoration to ensure the maximum level of authenticity required to meet today's stringent concours standards. The Ford VIN is present on the block and has been confirmed with 65/66 SAAC Registrar Howard Pardee. In addition, the Ford VIN and SFM are present on the inner aprons as they should be. Now in its 50th anniversary year, the 1965 GT350 has always garnered the most interest from collectors because it is the rarest and most radical of Shelby Mustangs. Fine examples like 5S291 rarely hit the public market. If you are interested in acquiring a 65 Shelby which is restored to concours perfection, please do not hesitate to reach out at this link for more information. I would be more than happy to provide you with additional pictures and information upon request.
