1988 Porsche 930 Turbo S Coupe Factory Flachbau Slantnose

Description:

1988 PORSCHE 930 S TURBO FACTORY "FLACHBAU" SLANTNOSE COUPE

WE ARE VERY PROUD TO DISPLAY THIS MINT MILESTONE "DREAMCAR" FROM OUR MUSEUM COLLECTION .

DURING THE LATE EIGHTIES, HAND-IN-HAND WITH HAIRSPRAY AND ROW'S OF GOLD NECKLACES ACROSS YOUR HAIRY CHEST, WAS THE EPITOMY DREAM CAR , MUCH LIKE THE 935 PORSCHE FACTORY RACE CAR, "THE SLANTNOSE PORSCHE"... I HAD PURCHASED, A CAR LIKE THIS ONE BUT, IN "PLATINUM", 'NEW '...32 YEARS AGO. TO THIS DAY, MY FAMILY STILL TALKS ABOUT THIS GREAT CAR AS THEY ALWAYS REGRETTED SEEING IT TRADED ON A NEW SPEEDSTER WHEN IT WAS REVEALED IN 1989. SADLY, THAT CAR WAS A "M506 ROW" FACTORY SLANTNOSE , ONE OF THE 37 BUILT 'R.O.W.'... FOR THE "REST OF THE WORLD" ('GRAY MARKET' NON-USA). THIS CAR, FOR US, WAS IS THE "DREAMCAR" REPLACEMENT...A FACTORY 911 TURBO OR '930S' M505 VERSION SPECIFICALLY MEANT FOR U.S. SHIPMENT ONLY. IT IS ONE OF 625 SLANTNOSES MADE BETWEEN 1987-1989 (BOTH COUPE & CABRIOLET), AND IS ONE OF THE LAST CHASSIS AS PORSCHE DECIDED TO DISCONTINUE THE 930 AS THE 'G-SERIES" PLATFORM REPLACED IT WITH THE 'NEW' "964" SERIES. STAT'S SHOW THEY ONLY BUILT "278" OF THESE CARS IN 1988 (187 Coupes) AND THIS WOULD BE THE SECOND YEAR OF THE U.S.A. VERSION.

OUR CAR IS FINISHED IN IT'S ORIGINAL "GRAN PRIX WHITE" PAINT WITH EXCELLENT FULL DARK BURGUNDY LEATHER. STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR THIS CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN THE 3.3 TURBO CHARGED SIX-CYLINDER 'BOXER" MOTOR, FOUR SPEED TRANSMISSION (THE G-50 CAME IN 1989). THEY WERE EQUIPPED WITH THE 7 X 16" ALLOY 'FUCH' WHEELS, 205/50 VR 16 FRONT TIRES AND 245/45 VR 16 IN THE REAR. IT ALSO CARRIED AS 'STANDARD EQUIPMENT' : ANTI-THEFT (DEVICE) WHEELS, POWER WINDOWS, TINTED GLASS WITH GRADUATED FRONT WINDOW TINT, 2- STAGE REAR WINDOW HEATER, HEATED WINDOW SPRAY NOZZLES, WINDSHIELD ANTENNA, 'RENO" AM/FM/ CASSETTE RADIO W/ 4 SPEAKERS, OPTIONAL PAINTED WHITE WHEELS W/POLISHED RIM, LEATHER INTERIOR, LEATHER COVERED STEERING WHEEL W/ PORSCHE CLOISENNIE' BADGE, STABILIZER BARS FRONT/ REAR, BRAKE WEAR INDICATOR, AIR COOLING CHARGER, 1.0 BAR TURBO BOOST GAUGE, FRONT & REAR SPOILERS / AIR DAM, HEATED ELECTRIC MIRRORS BOTH SIDES, 88 AMP BATTERY, CENTRAL LOCKING, CLEAR FOGLAMPS, HEADLIGHT WASHERS, AUTO. HEATER CONTROL, REAR WINDOW WIPER, HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT BOTH L/R SEATS, FACTORY ALARM SYSTEM AND FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING. OUR CAR HAS THE ADDITIONAL ' OPTIONAL' EQUIPMENT OF FULL LEATHER, ELECTRIC SUNROOF, 'RAISED HUB' CRESTED STEERING WHEEL, LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL, ELECTRIC SEATS LEFT/ RIGHT, POLISHED FUCH WHEELS, LARGER TURBO CHARGER AND, OF COURSE, THE FACTORY SLANTNOSE 505 PACKAGE . AMAZINGLY THIS 'SLANTNOSE' PACKAGE COST RANGED BETWEEN $23,833 AND $29,500 EXTRA OVER THE 3 YEAR PERIOD.

WITH THIS OPTION YOU GOT AIR INLET DUCTS WITH CONNECTORS, SOME SAY WOOD SLATS- (YES, WOOD! ) IN THE REAR FENDERS WITH A OIL COOLER BLOWER IN THE RIGHT REAR INLET, METAL 'CUSTOM' SLANTNOSE FENDERS (FLACHBAU" IN GERMAN) BUILT WITH ELECTRIC 'POP-UP' ROUND HEADLAMPS (NOT SQUARE AS SEEN ON AFTERMARKET VERSIONS) AND DIE-CUT FENDER LOUVERS (NOT WELDED-IN), LOWER FRONT VALANCE MADE OF FIBERGLASS, FLUSH MOUNTED DRIVING LIGHTS, AND LOWER VALANCE W/ OIL COOLER BUILT-IN, PLUS, BOXED ROCKERS. THE 'REAL' FACTORY VERSIONS HAD THE JACK SUPPORTS WELDED AND EXTENDED INSIDE THE ROCKERS, ALL THE WAY TO THE FRAME AND CARRIED THE "M505" DESIGNATION ON A FACTORY 'BUILD SHEET' STICKER UNDER THE HOOD. SO FEW WERE BUILT THAT THEY ACTUALLY DEMAND A BIG PREMIUM OVER ANY OTHER MODEL AS THEY WERE, LITERALLY, "HAND MADE" IN THE "WERKS 1" BODY FABRICATION BUILDING, ON THE FACTORY GROUNDS, UNDER THE HEADING "SONDERWUNSCHOPROGRAMM"
(SPECIAL ORDER PROGRAM). EACH "FLACHBAU", SOMETIMES INAPPROPRIATELY CALLED 'SLOPENOSE' UNIT, WAS HANDCRAFTED AND EACH WAS TOTALLY UNIQUE, THOUGH IT IS SAID WHEN CONCEIVED, "YOU COULD HAVE ANY COLOR YOU WANTED AS LONG AS IT WAS....." : GUARDS RED, GRAN PRIX WHITE OR A-1 BLACK. CONVERSELY, THE EUROPEAN "506"VERSIONS WERE OFFERED IN ANY COLOR. THE TRUE SLANTNOSE VERSIONS ARE VERY RARE, HARD TO FIND 'REAL' AND CONSIDERED BY MOST TO BE ONE OF THE WORLDS GREATEST EXOTIC SPORTS CARS SINCE THEY WERE NOT ONLY 'COVETED' BUT, OFTEN COPIED AND 'CREATED' BY OTHERS. THIS, HOWEVER, IS THE 'REAL DEAL' FACTORY BUILT PORSCHE! IT HAS BEEN IN OUR AIR CONDITIONED CAR MUSEUM FOR 20 YEARS ON DISPLAY.
ALL NOT ONLY THE CONSUMMATE CALENDAR CAR TO YOUR GARAGE BUT, A FACTORY MILESTONE AUTOMOBILE $215,000 . Complete $4,800 Tune ,Injectors, Fuel Heads and 2 Fuel Pumps, Gas Tank Upgrade recently performed.

THIS SERIES OF PORSCHE CARS MARKED THE FIRST TIME THE FACTORY - EVER MODIFIED CARS MADE AVAILABLE TO UNITED STATES CUSTOMERS THROUGH DEALERSHIPS AND THE P.C.N.A.

THIS CAR CARRIES ORIG., LOW MILES at 63,000 ( 2,250 PER YEAR) WITH AN 'ACTUAL MILEAGE TITLE, AND IS COMPLETE WITH FULL DOCUMENTATION FROM PORSCHE, , AND ALL THE BOOKS/ RECORDS. A "DREAM CAR" BY ANYONE'S STANDARDS. THE COVETED PORSCHE 930S 'SLANTNOSE' COUPE.

www.930s.com CLAIMS 40-60 BUILT PER YEAR... (7) OF WHICH WERE TARGA'S. HOWEVER, MOST BOOKS AGREE , TOTAL PRODUCTION AS PUBLISHED ABOVE 1987-1989 FOR U.S.A. CONSUMPTION. SEE PETER MORGAN'S BOOK "ORIGINAL PORSCHE 911", "PORSCHE 911" BY PATRICK PATERNIE, & THE P.C.N.A. WEBSITE.
