1992 Cadillac Allante Convertible. This is another example of a pristine, well-preserved car, here at our dealership. It was imported into Canada from the USA in 1997 and has clearly led a very charmed life - like every Cadillac should. This car was designed to compete with the Mercedes-Benz 500 SL and other European sports cars in the late 80's and early 90s. As such, it certainly feels like no other Cadillac. It was styled by Pininfarina of Italy, the group responsible for most of the cars from Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, and Maserati to name a few, and therefore resembles a nimble European car, rather than an American land-yacht, typical of the time. All of the controls in the interior, all of the components under the hood look and feel different compared to a usual American car. It's also very advanced for it's time It has a full digital dashboard (all working) with an LCD information center that scrolls full diagnostic checks and displays anything wrong with the car. The Allante is known for being very well crafted but also very extensively engineered, meaning there are sensors for everything. It was also one of the earliest cars to offer electronic stability and traction control, along with ABS brakes (currently the brake warning light illuminates occasionally). There's along list of impressive features on this car including Automatic climate control, Premium sound system with Cassette and CD (currently makes no sound), dual leather power seats, with 2-position memory for the driver, power windows and locks, keyless entry, automatic parking brake release and cruise control. Almost everything in the car is operated through push button control. Although the convertible top is manually operated, it still features soft close pull downs on both the front and rear of the top along with the soft close pull-down trunk lid, all working. The car is powered by a multi-port fuel injected 4.5-liter Cadillac V8 making 200 hp and backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission, all driven through the front wheels. It's very smooth and still quite powerful in this application. This car runs fantastically. The A/C blows cold and mostly everything is in perfect working condition. The only exceptions are the brake waring light (brakes work well), and no sound coming from the Bose sound system (typical issue for these). There are sources online to rebuild the faulty amplifiers. The Allante was sold with both hard and soft tops from 1988 till 1990, but by 1992, the hard top was optional. This car is not equipped with the hard top. The physical condition of the car is impressive. There are no rock chips, scratches or dents, and the body is completely corrosion free. The paint is silky smooth and the top looks brand new. The interior is immaculate. The usual places you would expect to see wear, are perfect, including the carpets, leather seats and dashboard. The factory owner’s manual and the gold Cadillac keys are still with the car. The car received a new battery in 2022 along with a new fuel pump and trunk lid struts. The A/C was recharged in 2021 and continues to blow cold. A full oil change and 4-wheel alignment was completed in 2021, and the car has only put on 600 kms since then. If you're into the unusual, unique, elegant or luxurious, this is totally your car! Very few of these around, and they certainly don't all look as good as this one. The car has 66,000 kms on it and is very largely factory original and flawless.
