1950 Chevrolet 3600

1950 Chevrolet 3600 If you're searching for an authentic Advance Design Chevrolet pickup with outstanding originality and tasteful mechanical upgrades, this 1950 Chevrolet 3600 deserves a close look. A true running and driving survivor, this classic truck has retained its vintage character while receiving carefully selected improvements that enhance reliability and drivability without taking away from its historic appeal. The truck was professionally resprayed in its original green color some time ago, preserving the factory appearance while maintaining the truck's timeless style. Aside from the repaint and a handful of practical upgrades, this Chevrolet remains largely original and unrestored. The seller notes only minor cosmetic imperfections, including some surface rust on the frame and small rust holes at the bottoms of the interior doors, while stating that the remainder of the truck is rust-free. Power comes from a 1957 Chevrolet 235 inline-six engine, featuring the desirable full-pressure oiling system. The engine has been upgraded with an automatic choke Rochester carburetor, electronic HEI ignition, and a 12-volt electrical conversion for improved reliability and easier starting. The original oil bath air cleaner has also been modified to accommodate a modern paper air filter for simplified maintenance. Backing the engine is a 4-speed manual transmission with an extremely low first gear and a factory PTO (Power Take-Off), preserving the truck's utility while remaining true to its working heritage. Inside, the cab has been refreshed with a recovered seat, new door panels with trim, new sun visors, and a convenient key-start ignition conversion, replacing the original foot-operated starter while maintaining the truck's classic appearance. Safety and braking performance have also been thoughtfully upgraded with a dual-reservoir master cylinder, all new wheel cylinders, new rear brake shoes, and new front wheel bearings and seals, making this classic even more enjoyable to drive. Whether you're looking for a dependable vintage cruiser, a weekend show truck, or an authentic Chevrolet pickup with honest survivor character, this 1950 Chevrolet 3600 offers the perfect blend of originality, reliability, and classic American styling.
