1970 Dodge Coronet 500

Description:

Rare! #s matching 383 convertible, only 147 made total! Arizona rust free car that had a ground up restoration. Factory Hemi Orange and extra rare factory air conditioning. Same owner the last 17 years.

EXTERIOR: Rust free all original panels, it was sandblasted bare. I did not find any rust, bubbles, or damage. It has been upgraded with the R/T package including the very hard to get hood and the side scoops. It is repainted it's original Hemi orange color, the paint is very smooth and glossy. The white bumblebee stripe is painted on. New windshield. The white convertible top is in excellent shape. The original bumpers were rechromed. It has reproduction Rallye wheels from Coker with BFG tires.

INTERIOR: Great looking and cool in the summer white interior. Very desirable bucket seats with the factory center console. The seats have been recushioned and upholstered. Door panels and armrests were replaced, original wood grain trim. Professionally rallye gauges, quartz clock. The dash area is very nice: the vents, original radio, levers etc. The owner's manual is in the glove box. There's a stereo mounted below the dash with two speakers sitting on the floor in the back.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original VIN # matching 383. It was professionally rebuilt. Clevite bearings, Meling oil pump, true roller set and Chrysler cam. It's completely stock in appearance: the right air cleaner, valve covers, manifolds etc. Very rare factory air conditioning that is working, it also has power steering and power brakes. For a Mopar that's considered loaded! The washer bottle looks new, the alternator still has a sticker on it, the fan and shroud are proper, the battery is bolted down and it has hood insulation. The engine bay is clean metal all painted hemi orange. The VIN number on the core support matches the car, the original fender tag is still attached.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted nicely. Very rare to have its original trunk floor in a convertible Mopar. It's all painted orange inside. Reproduction mat and weather strip, well liner was replaced. Working trunk light. Never used tire for a spare and a reproduction jack assembly.

UNDERSIDE: Everything was removed from the bottom of this car. It's all clean original floors, braces, rockers and frame rails. They're prepped and painted orange. The suspension and steering were completely rebuilt. They used a PST front end rebuild kit and PST brake kit. It has disc in front. Calipers, hoses, lines, e-brake cables were replaced. It has a correct dual exhaust system with crossover pipe and the chrome square tips. Looking up at the motor it's still spotless, it has an anodized oil pan, and the starter looks new. It's original VIN #s matching 727 Torqueflite automatic was rebuilt. The previous owner upgraded it with a Dana 60 heavy duty rear end end with 3.55 Sure Grip gears.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and changed the transmission filter, installed new horns, repaired the air conditioning system and replaced the compressor. We replaced a taillight bulb, repaired the door locks, repaired the right rear window operation, and lubed the window tracks.

Don't take this car lightly, this is an extremely rare and desirable machine. The fact that it's numbers matching with all these great options and colors makes it a solid investment. Remember, only 147 made!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
