At the front of this Chevy, chromed bumpers trace a stainless grille, which is centered between bullet-style parking lamps. Above those bumpers, a cross-flag-branded header leads a clean hood, polished wipers and stainless-trimmed glass. At the sides of that glass, a bowtie-stamped driver's mirror and traditional GM door handles perfectly complement polished rocker guards and flowing fender emblems. And at the back of the car, two more chromed bumpers frame an ornate fuel filler, polished exhaust tips, dual-mode taillights, a polished tag box and a requisite Sting Ray deck emblem.
Tilt this Corvette's hood and you'll find 327 cubic inches of hot L79 small block. One of the most powerful naturally aspirated V8s of its day, this impressive mill utilizes a forged crank, forged rods, forged pistons, a hot cam and hydraulic lifters to turn stout 11 to 1 compression into a solid 350 horsepower. At the top of the spry block, a polished air cleaner funnels wind into a correct Holley carburetor that's sequenced to pliable GM hoses and a familiar AC fuel filter. Below that carb, a lightweight Winters intake perfectly complements finned Corvette valve covers. At the back of that intake, chrome-cased ignition shoots spark through fresh wires, which lurk beneath correct, cast iron exhaust manifolds. And at the front of those manifolds, a Harrison-branded radiator, upfitted with an electric puller fan, circulates water through pliable GM hoses and authentic tower clamps. Whoever performed the restoration on this Corvette did an excellent job of creating an attractive, reliable engine bay that's every bit as detailed as the rest of the car. Bright Chevy Orange paint covers the block from its clean oil pan all the way to its chrome oil filler and, as always, looks great against GM's Satin Black bay. And a roster of correct ancillaries includes a Frigidaire AC compressor, a Harrison expansion tank and a Delco-Remy alternator.
Flip this small block Vette upside down and you'll find a solid chassis that's in good shape, and today, looks much as it did when it rolled off the showroom floor. At the center of the car, a tough Muncie 4-speed drives a factory differential. At the ends of the car, a fully rebuilt double A-arm front and independent rear suspension is completely detailed down to its lucid shocks, correct springs and optional power steering. At the corners of those bones, power disc brakes, made standard for the 1965 model year, mix good handling characteristics with quick and solid stops. At the edges of those brakes, torque flows through spinner-capped turbines to 205/75R15 Firestone FR380 gold lines. And everything, from this Corvette's factory sway bar to its factory replacement exhaust system, is fully sorted and ready to roll!
Slip into this Sting Ray's serene interior and settle on correct leather buckets that are dressed in factory lap belts. A body-matched dash founds an array of black-trimmed telemetry next to controls for factory air conditioning and a correct Delco AM/FM radio that commands a trick power antenna. At the base of that dash, a shallow console frames a familiar chrome shifter. A telescopic column spins a classy Teak wheel. And the car's well-optioned cockpit is rounded out with conveniences like a day/night mirror and factory power windows.
