I'm thinking about selling my 55 Belair Nomad. I am on the fence I love this car. I would consider trade for the right mid year Corvette coupe.
I bought this car years ago just out of long time dry storage. I never washed it or cleaned it I just did what was necessary to drive it the way it was. When I take it out people always comment, They say it looks like it just came out of a barn, I like the response so I leave it dirty.
The car is 99.9% rust & rot free with all original born with GM panels. This is not a patched up bondo bucket very solid and straight car.
I would describe it as a Survivor with one old Lacquer repaint, (probably done in the late 60's or early 70's). The car was done in its original colors, Sea Mist Green over Neptune Green. The interior is nice original beige and green in very good to excellent condition. Drive train, 283 V8 with a 4 speed transmission. This car runs and drives excellent I use it all the time in good weather.
All the trim and bright work will clean up nicely. The original glass is all excellent except the right rear slider, it has a crack. The tail gate works like new and still has the cables.
You can use this car as it is like I have over the years or bring it to the next level. A paint job, one piece of glass and polishing the trim would make this car an Excellent driver.
I don't have to sell this car and it is not a fire sale. I have been looking at what other 55 Nomads have been selling for over the past few years and think my price is fair.
