There is not a Coronet RT made that has better value than this extremely desirable Coronet R/T 4-speed manual car. This R/T was ordered with the most incredible color combination available in 1968: bright PP1 red body paint and white interior with burgundy door frames and a white vinyl top with white longitudinal accent stripes.
It has a bucket seat, console, 4-speed manual, and a 440 Magnum with its original 3:54 Dana differential. It even has its original fender tag, proving the pedigree of this magnificent car.
We just pulled this car out of storage after waiting for 3 years to begin its journey towards hitting the streets again. The restoration will have its challenges as the rear frame rails, tail panel, trunk floor and floor pans will need to be replaced. She will need a full restoration of its interior and rebuild of the correct D code HP 440.
It’s not a numbers matching drive train, but it absolutely has the correct date stampings.
Sure, it’s going to cost a lot of money to restore this car, but when it’s done, it may be the most gorgeous R/T on the planet.
Priced as it sits at $25,000 with the Builder short block engine and 18 spline trans. Or, SMG could put together a high-quality driver restoration project for approximately $85,000 complete.
