This 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa has excellent paint, a distinctly vintage interior, and a strong air-cooled motor to ensure the open road beckons. And it's impressive that such a fun classic can still be affordable.
The sharply-pointed front end, pillarless hardtop profile, and wraparound bumpers make the Corvair coupe look good. You see it in the quality of the sheet metal where the crisp crease wraps around the front end, and it continues through the door line in an almost unbroken line. And we love that this one keeps a stock appearance, right down to the fender badging and wheel covers. It's a bright, clean presentation done in a respray of the factory-correct Mist Blue.
A Corsa-level Corvair is made for driving, and this interior reminds you of that. It's a clean full black setup with great features like front bucket seats, a floor shifter, and full gauges anchored by a large speedo and tach. All of this is engaging, but this one also feels quite vintage. It's in everything from the stock trim on the door panels to the feel of the thin/grippy steering wheel. And you'll even notice great details like the working dome light and a fold-down rear seat option.
Pop the rear lid to discover one of the cleanest Corvair engine bays we have seen in quite some time. This is important because you'll love showing off the four individual carburetors that make up the particular Corsa motor. It makes the unique 164 cubic-inch flat-six quite an appealing motor. It has a true traction advantage by keeping the most weight over the rear wheels (engine, battery, and spare tire). So, maximized for utility and only weighing 2,700 pounds makes, this Corvair feels very much like America's Porsche 356. Second-gen cars like this 1965 model are extra desirable because the generator was upgraded to an alternator (and this one even looks newer.) Plus, the '65 models take advantage of Chevrolet's updates to make Corvairs a much more confident handling car. This included revised spring rates, a fully independent rear suspension modeled after the Corvette, larger brakes, and a front anti-sway bar.
This is a classic American coupe with a touch of European flair... all at an obtainable price. That unbeatable combo doesn't come around often. Call now!
