The four Bumblebee Camaros (being sold for charity during the auction) and a giant Bumblebee status were a popular attraction at today's Family Value Day. Car enthusiasts of all ages streamed through the Barrett-Jackson gates the minute they opened for the 2019 Scottsdale Auction, eager to catch a glimpse of the more than 1,800 gleaming collector cars getting ready for the auction block, exploring the vast Exhibitor Marketplace and Sponsor Pavilion, taking a walk down memory lane in the automobilia display area, and experiencing an exciting dose of Mopar muscle at the Dodge Thrill Rides. Kids 12 and under got in free today, and there were youngsters aplenty enjoying all Barrett-Jackson has to offer. A special treat were daredevil exhibitions by the Monster Energy BMX Team (with more on tap for Sunday), as well as the Barrett-Jackson STEM Center presented by Shell and powered by Pennzoil. A youngster enjoys working on a motor at the Barrett-Jackson STEM Center. Located in the Equidome at WestWorld, the STEM Center has a great lineup of fun, hands-on learning activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Guests of all ages can learn how to code and race robots, watch live forensic demonstrations, build a circuit to run a motor, skate and learn about the science of hockey and more at the Center, which is open daily through Tuesday, January 15. The fun continues tomorrow, with the first of some 1,600 authentic pieces of the past taking their turn on the block during the Automobilia Auction from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. As a reminder the event wraps up at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, but will shift into high gear on Monday, when both the Automobilia and Collector Car Auctions are in full swing! Tickets are still available either online or at the gate.
