Combine 3,000 tri-five Chevys from across the planet with a racetrack and some great weather and you end up with the perfect recipe for a good time. And thats exactly what happened when the gates opened up on Saturday morning for the big day at this years Tri Five Nationals in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It was a big day for many reasons. First, the top 25-cars got to park in their own special area (see accompanying story), secondly the drag cars got the chance to blast their way through the brackets for chance at cash glory, and lastly it was the day a lucky winner was chosen for this years Golden Star Classic Auto Parts giveaway 56 drop-top Chevy! That lucky winner turned out to be Donald (Rusty) and Cindy Kanoski out of Illinois. Turns out that the $65 registration fee was a great investment! While all of that was going on there were miles of every type of tri-five Chevy imaginable on display from the rough around the edges variety to the some of the most stunning examples in the country. Of the 25 cars chosen for the Top 25 honors that field was whittled down to the Top 5 (Gary Brown, Dave Bohler, John Emacio, Dave Lukinuk, and Kevin Guidry). After a round of internal voting Kevin Guidry and his beautiful 55 hardtop Chevy was named the top tri-five of the event! The crowds were thick and the cars were sweet, best off all a great time was had by all! So, if you couldnt make it out to see the show and track action (shame on you) then sit back, crack open something frosty and click though our event shots. Between the drag racing, exhibition runs, and car show it was almost too much to see. But, if you cant make it to the event then were here to help with a gallery of just a few of the cars on hand.
